Van deze geweldige grafische stickers van RK shop krijgen we helemaal zin om ALLES vol te plakken. Leuk voor het opleuken van agenda's en boekjes maar ook lichtknopjes in huis, je fiets, auto, you name it. Decoratieve vogel lekkernijen

Laten we ook deze komende winter de vogels niet vergeten. En het is natuurlijk handig om kant en klaar wat te kopen. Maar het is nog leuker om zelf wat te maken. Of de middenweg omdat kant en klare te combineren met eigen decoratieve items. Hier zie je wat voorbeelden uit BoligLiv die stuk voor stuk geweldig zijn.
Let's not forget about the hungry birds this winter. Of course, we can just buy standard feeding items in the store. But how great do these DIY birdfeeders combined with store items look. These are some examples from BoligLiv and I think every one of them is great, modern and decorative.

Net een beetje extra kleur

Dit is wel een leuk voorbeeld van wat je zoal met het Rie Elise Larsen papier kunt doen. Voor de foto frames zou je natuurlijk ook masking tape kunnen gebruiken. Gespot op het Deense Wooz blog. Daar zul je ook zien als je door haar archief gaat dat ze erg creatief is met het papier. Op de WC letters, haar broodbak, kasten, dressoirs, kandelaars, you name it en ze heeft het beplakt. Leuk om te zien.
This is a nice example of what you can do with the Rie Elise Larsen paper. Of course you could just as easily use masking tape for the photo frames. I've spotted this image on the Danish Wooz blog. You'll see when you start looking in her archives that she is very creative with the paper. She has it on WC letters, her breadbox, cabinets, dressers, candlesticks, you name it and she's papered it. Great to look at.

Nieuw in de collectie van Swiden

Geboren en getogen aan de Zweedse kust is het niet vreemd dat de nu in Melbourne (Australië) wonende ontwerpster Charlotte Swiden nog steeds veel inspiratie haalt uit haar Scandinavische tijd. Nieuw in haar collectie is de TIVOLIVAT lijn met kaarten, poster, kussenhoezen en deze houten decoraties. TIVOLIVAT is een combinatie van de woorden TIVOLI (het beroemde pretpark) en LIVAT (wat opgetogen of levendig betekend). De collectie van Charlotte is onder de merknaam SWIDEN online verkrijgbaar.

Enorme kitsch maar wel grappig

Per stuk zou ik er persoonlijk niet heel snel voor vallen maar als je een verzameling bij elkaar zet zoals hier bij een van de Dos Family visits dan wordt het ineens weer heel leuk. Met name die huilende variant. Die's natuurlijk BRILJANT!
If I would come across one of these at a thrift shop I wouldn't be tempted to buy one. However, a collection of them as seen here in one of the Dos Family visits is very cute. Specially the one crying. That's the best!

Een fan van grijstinten en naturels. Kijk dan ook eens op het Holmberg Everyday Living blog. Mooi hoe deze prachtige illustraties bij elkaar gezet zijn op drie verschillende manieren. Dit blog is een mix van eigen foto's en inspiraties van fotografen en bladen. Zeker de moeite waard.

Decoratieve 'uien'

Waarom dit soort decoraties alleen met kerst ophangen? De drie hangers boven de lamp doen wel sterk denken aan de houten hangers van Ferm LIVING. We hebben ze in een bal en een ui model, in zwart, wit en naturel hout.

Inspiratie Finse kinderkamers

De kinderkamers die de Finse styliste Susanna Vento voor thuis heeft zijn een ware lust voor het oog. De kussens van dieren passen leuk bij elkaar en dochter Varpu vindt het een feest om ermee te spelen. Ook laat Susanna zien dat leuke ansichtkaarten bij elkaar op de muur een fijne sfeermaker zijn. De vloer lijkt een gietvloer te zijn maar het is een goed geschuurde, flink geverfde houten vloer. De foto's komen van Petra Bindel via Dwell.com.

Finnish stylist Susanna Vento has given daughter Varpu a great room. The animal pillows are great together and a joy to play with for the kids. And Susanna shows that just a few nice postcards can form an affordable piece of art on the wall. The floor looks solid but it is a sanded wooded floor with a good few layers of paint. Let's go to the circus!

Ik ben dol op het circus thema. Je moet wel even zoeken als je vintage spullen wilt scoren voor het opleuken van je interieur maar dan heb je ook wel wat! Deze geweldige (poolse) posters kwam ik tegen op het blog Trendey. Beetje prijzig dat wel. Maar met wat zoeken op sites als Etsy en Ebay kom je ook hele leuke tegen hoor!
I love the circus theme. It takes a little searching if you want to find nice vintage things. These great (Polish) posters were spotted on the Trendey blog. But they're quite pricey (250 dollars). Just have to keep on searching on sites such as Etsy and Ebay.

Bijna verhuizen!

Nog een paar dagen klussen en dan kunnen de eerste grote dingen over. Tot op de dag van vandaag heb ik spijt dat ik op etsy niet deze oude borduurprent heb gekocht. Want wat had deze mooi gestaan in ons nieuwe huisje. Maar gelukkig heb ik er een foto van opgeslagen. Als ik dan straks knus met de beentjes opgetrokken op onze nieuwe bank zit dan kan ik misschien het borduurgaren erbij pakken.

Just a few more days and we'll be ready to move the first large items into our new home. I'm still sorry I didn't buy this vintage embroidery on Etsy. This would have looked very nice on one of the walls in our new home. But luckely I saved a picture and who knows. I might get creative with my feet on the couch one evening.

Ornamenten als guirlande aan de trap

Ben jij ook zo'n kerst ornamenten verzamelaar? Ik denk dat ik inmiddels wel vier bomen zou kunnen versieren met de hoeveelheid die ik heb. En ieder jaar wordt ik weer hebberig van alle nieuwe dingen. Maar vier bomen in huis is wel wat veel. Daarom vind ik dit ook zo'n heel leuk idee. Hang je mooiste ornamenten aan de reling van de trap. Thanks House of Pictures voor deze leuke tip.

And still, every year I get dazzled by the new ones in the shop or the ones I spot on trading websites. But four trees... our house isn't big enough. Hét IKEA blog

Mijn eerste introductie met het Zweedse IKEA blog hangt een beetje tegen het bizarre aan. Via via kom ik deze 'ingepakte' fret tegen met een behoorlijke knoop in zijn maag. Het blijkt geen onderdeel van de nieuwe collectie te zijn maar een museum tip. Pfff! Blij toe voor de massa van fretjes, al lijkt deze niet meer te redden te zijn.

Behalve bizarre fretjes zijn er ook andere leuke tips te zien zoals o.a. deze:

My first introduction with the Swedish IKEA blog is with this animal wrapped in a red long sweater with a huge knod in it's stomach. Thank heaven it wasn't a part of their new collection but a notice for a Swedish Museum. Aside from this bizarre image you also find other nice tips and suggestions like these flowerpots. Well worth a visit.

Show me the money

Even geleden had ik bij de letters met mijn naam al zo'n leuke kleurrijke olifanten. Maar deze zijn ook geweldig! Het zijn de altijd schattige spaarpotjes van het Finse Norsu. Als ik mijn kinder collectie verder ga uitbereiden komen deze zeker in de collectie. Al moet je wel een klein spaarpotje breken voordat je er een hebt...

A few days ago I had cute little colourful elephants with the letters spelling my name. But these are also GREAT! These are the ever so cute moneyboxes by the Finnish company Norsu. If I will expand my childrens collection these will be in the collection for sure. Although you will have to break a little moneybox to get one...

Servies sparen

Lang heb ik moeten nadenken over het plaatsen van dit blog. Want creëer ik nu niet concurenten... Ik ben sinds kort bezig met het zoeken naar mooie serviezen van Scandinavische merken. Ik struin ebay, google, marktplaats, etsy etc af. Tegenwoordig ook ebay Australië met mijn zus daar op lokatie. Ik heb nog niet veel maar het is een mooie nieuwe hobby aan het worden. Mijn beste vonst is een vaasje van Arabia (uit de Emilia serie) voor € 2,50 bij de kringloop. Deze ben ik op Ebay tegen gekomen voor € 65,-. Misschien dat mijn vonsten in het nieuwe huis een onderkomen vinden in het vitrine wandkastje van House Doctor.

I've had to think long and hard about placing this blog post. Do I want to create even MORE competition on the second hand market for Scandinavian porcelain. Twice a week I screen websites such as Ebay, Google, Marktplaats, Etsy for nice object. Since recently also Ebay Australia as my sister lives there now. I don't have many items yet but I am enjoying the search. When we move house I must find a nice spot for my 'display cabinet'. Maybe the nice black one from House Doctor. My best find so far is a Arabia vase (from the Emilia line) for 2,50 at a local second hand shop. Much better than the € 65,- requested on German ebay.

Mijn naam :-)

Wat is het leuk om bij de inspiratie beelden van Design Letters in Denemarken je eigen naam te zien staan. Zeker met allemaal van die toeterende olifanten eronder. Als iemand ook weet waar die van zijn! Te leuk.


It's so nice to see your own name in Design Letters from Denmark. I came across it on their inspiration pages. And the elephants with the long snout (is that an English word? should it be nose?). Too cute.

Mooi prikbord

Een moodboard hoeft niet altijd een groot (en vaak druk) statement op de muur van bijvoorbeeld je kantoor te zijn. Hier zie je een voorbeeld van de fotografe Mari Eriksson waarbij ze een kleine lijst heeft voorzien van een prikbord en wit canvas. Nu is het mogelijk je favoriete items te verzamelen. Ik ben blij met deze foto's want ik zou er NOOIT op zijn gekomen om madeliefjes te drogen. En nu (okay, volgend jaar) ga ik dit zeker doen.
A moodboard should always be related to your office workspace. You can also make a small moodboard with your favourite items. As this example of photographer Mari Eriksson. I love the little daisy at the top right in the frame. I would have never thought of drying these and you often see lawns covered in them. Next year! Definately!

Sfeermakers

Het is altijd leuk af en toe te kijken bij Sjamerende-GJENBRUK. Zij heeft een zeer romantische stijl maar ook altijd wel leuke ideeën. Zo spreekt de kaarsen in de karaffen me wel aan. En ik kan niet wachten tot het huis weer in de kerstsfeer aangekleed kan worden. Als woonwinkel word je hier door inkoop natuurlijk al veel eerder mee geconfronteerd. En dan gaat het onherroepelijk broeien om thuis ook aan de slag te gaan.


I always enjoy my visits to the Sjamerende-GJENBRUK blog. Her style is much more romantic than mine but I always come across good ideas. As these candles in carafes and the collection of old trays. The pinecones make me hungry for Christmas. As a home decorations shop your exposure to Christmas products starts very early in the year. And now I just can't wait anymore.

Illustratie inspiratie

Het zijn beelden als deze van Hus & Hem waardoor ik zo op zoek ga naar leuke illustraties, posters en prints. De mix van grafisch, kleurrijk, naturel, pentekening maakt het spannend. En door zelfgemaakt en via bijvoorbeeld Etsy te combineren houd je je 'kunstwand' betaalbaar.

It is an image like this one from Hus & Hem that inspires me to look for nice illustrations. The mix of graphic lines, colourful, natural and pencil drawings creates an interesting total. And by the combination of 'home made' and buying at sites like Etsy you keep your art wall affordable.

Waskamer

Wat moet het fijn zijn om zo'n aparte waskamer te hebben. Zeker als deze ook nog zo mooi eruit ziet als deze. De finishing touches zijn voor mij toch wel een leuke voorraad potten met waspoeder. Met een wit of gekleurd lintje maak je voor jezelf herkenbaar welk waspoeder erin zit.


It must me great to have a little laundryroom like this one. For me the finishing touches are the containers with soap. They are decorated with little ribbons. You can easily make these white or colourful to remind you of the kind of powder in the container.
