Sommige dingen zijn gewoon kunst en die mogen dan best als zodanig getoond worden. Zoals deze mooie kunstwerken bij elkaar gehangen aan de muur in combinatie met die geweldige icoon van een stoel. Mooi van BoligMagasinet.

Mooi van Oh So Fine

Dit is weer een heerlijke ontdekking. Allereerst het blog vol geweldige foto's van Deense fotografe Line Klein. En dan ook nog deze mooie kunstwerken van het nieuwe merk Oh so fine. Als zwangere vrouw spreekt het bovenste me natuurlijk zeer aan. Deze zou ik graag op de kinderkamer hangen als een warme herinnering aan onze eerste maanden saampjes.
I love finding amazing new things on the internet. Such as the source of these beautiful images. The photographer is the Danish Line Klein and she has a blog filled with great food, lifestyle and interior photos. And the shop where you can buy these amazing products is the new Oh so fine. As a mom to be I would love to have this print in the nursery as a warm reminder of our first months together. 

A new love for Meyer-Lavigne

Ken je Meyer Lavigne al? Mogelijk ben je een van hun beschilderde borden al eens ergens tegen gekomen maar dit duo doet nog zoveel meer. Naast de Meyer Lavigne shop met allemaal alledaagse gebruiksvoorwerpen die ware kunstwerken zijn werken deze design dames ook als succesvol stylistes voor diverse Deense woonbladen. En dit met een stijl die mij persoonlijk zeer aanspreekt. Het gedateerde alledaags maken.
Have you 'met' Meyer Lavigne? It could be that you've seen one of their beautiful painted plates online. But this creative duo does so much more. Aside from their work of artsy everyday products that you can buy online in their Meyer Lavigne shop they also are succesful stylists for Danish interior magazines. I personally really like their style where they take objects from the past and make them fit in an interior today.

Een serieuze pinterest verslaving

Ben jij ook al zo verslaafd aan PINTEREST. Ik kom via het doorklikken van leuke foto's bij de leukste shopjes en blogs terecht. Zo ook deze Going Danish die op Bigcartel verstopt zit. De online winkel van freelance illustrator Mariann Dorethy uit Denemarken. Het fijne van dit soort winkels is dat de prijzen ook lekker schappelijk zijn.

The online shop of freelance illustrator Mariann Dorethy from Denmark. And the best part of shops like this is that the pricing is very wallet friendly.

Papieren kunst voor thuis aan de muur

Helen Musselwhite maakt geweldige papieren kunstwerken zoals hierboven te zien. En IKEA maakt het met deze print mogelijk om thuis voor een fijn prijsje ook een Helen Musselwhite aan de muur te hangen. De laatste afbeelding is van de SOLMYRA, de print die voor slechts 9,95 euro te koop is.

Geïnspireerd door het Noorse Cathrineholm

Over de rechter poster heb ik eerder geschreven. Het prachtige werk van Handz (te vinden op Etsy). De kleurrijke linker variant van Elisandra via Designspiration is een nieuwe voor mij waar ik tipgeefster Little Scandinavian graag hartelijk voor wil bedanken. Op twitter volg ik haar al even als Scandinavian mum maar nu heb ik ook haar blog ontdekt. 
I've written about the print on the right before. It's the beautiful work by Handz (you can find him on Etsy). The colorful left poster was new to me. It is made by Elisandra and comes from Designspiration and the tip came from Little Scandinavian. I follow her on twitter for some time now as Scandinavian mum and now I've also discovered her blog.

Heel bijzonder handwerk

Vandaag kwam ik in het online papier mache magazine weer een geweldige vonst tegen. De stoelen van Soojin Kang. Het zijn oude stoelen in een nieuw geheel stoffen jasje. Iedere stoel is hiermee uniek. Zo wordt een saaie oude keukenstoel of een krukje een kunst object voor in je huis. Wederom, in mijn creatief mapje. Het wordt eens tijd dat ik er ook mee aan de slag ga.... 

Today I came across these chairs by Soojin Kang in the online edition of papier mache magazine. Each chair is unique and handmade. They're old chairs covered in fabric. Again, something to keep in my 'creative' folder online to keep in mind for when I have more time....

Deze MOET ik even met jullie delen!

Hoe geweldig zijn deze Happy Town houten poppen. Allen handbeschilderd door Lorena Siminovich, designer van Petit Collage. De speciale editie houten poppen is alleen niet op haar eigen site te vinden. Je komt ze tegen op de site van Curiosity's Shoppe in Amerika. Bij mij staan ze al in mijn opslagmap 'creatief' om op een rustig dagje zelf eens uit te proberen. 

How great are these Happy Town wooden dolls. All handpainted by Lorena Siminovich, designer of Petit Collage. These special edition wooden dolls are not in her own shop. You can find them on website of the Curiosity's Shoppe in the US.

They are posted in my 'creative' storage map to try to DIY on a quiet day. 

Mooi, kunst of zelfmaken?

Via het designlovefest kom ik op de General store. Mooie houten producten en mijn oog valt meteen op deze blokken met harlequin dessin. Terug te vinden in het remix behang van Ferm LIVING en diverse andere producten komend seizoen. Mooie blokken, kosten wel 200 dollar voor de kleine en 300 dollar voor de grote. Is het dan kunst? Of iets wat ik liever zelf ga maken? Ik wil de ontwerper zeker niet beledigen maar soms raak ik de verhouding tussen prijs en object een beetje kwijt.
From the designlovefest I take a left turn to the General store. Beautiful mostly wooden products and the blocks immediately cought my eye. The dessin is similar to the remix wallpaper by Ferm LIVING and several other products you will see on shelves the coming year. Nice blocks. But prices vary from 200 dollar for the small one to 300 dollar for the large one. Is it art? Of something I would much rather make myself? I don't wish to insult the designer but sometimes the balance between price and object is lost for me.

Weer een mooie vonst!

Wat een vonst! Deze posters zijn geweldig. Ik ga kijken of ik ze voor Lille Lykke kan inkopen. Dan smokkel ik wel een klein beetje want ze komen origineel niet uit Scandinavie. Maar het thema wel... Mocht dat niet lukken dan laat ik weten waar ze vandaag komen. Te mooi zijn ze.


What a find! These posters are amazing. I'm going to find out if I can purchase them for Lille Lykke. It will be cheating a bit as they are not originally Scandinavian. But as the theme is I feel it's more or less allowed.... If I don't succeed I'll let you know where you can buy them.

De kunst van hergebruik

Al een tijdje ben ik fan van Fine Little Day. Volgens mij ben ik ze het eerst op het spoor gekomen via hun behang van boten (getekend door een van de kinderen van de ontwerpster). Deze lepels vind ik ook helemaal super. Ik krijg al helemaal zin om mijn keukenla door te spitten en anders weer even naar de kringloop te rijden. Het is wederom een heel eenvoudig ontwerp maar het ziet er zo schattig uit.

I've been a fan of Fine Little Day for quite some time now. I believe I've first spotted them when I was looking at the wallpaper made from drawings of one of the children from the designer. The spoons I'm showing here are also a favourite. I'm itching to make some myself. It looks really easy to make and the effect is amazing!

Kaarten bij IKEA

Met z'n allen naar de IKEA voor deze geweldige art kaarten van Maria Dahlgren. Ik ken deze ontwerpster al een aardig tijdje via FromSthlm.com. Een site waar diverse items van geweldige ontwerpers verkocht worden. Iedere keer iemand anders en op = op. 

Go to IKEA and make sure you buy yourself a set of these cards by Maria Dahlgren. Typically something you think to do later and you'll see the'll have sold out. I've known Maria for a while now when first seeing it on FromSthlm.com. A nice site/blog/shop with different Scandinavian designers and products.

Kunst in de eetkamer

Door de stoelen in deze eethoek is het al een vrolijke en kleurrijke boel, maar de kunst op het randje boven de raampartij maakt het helemaal af. Door zo'n rand waar de lijsten op rusten is het makkelijk om kunst af te wisselen. Dit huis uit Boligmagasinet laat ons nog veel meer moois zien. Daar meer over morgen....


The chairs in this diningroom setting create a feel of brightness. Which is completed by the artpieces on the ridge over the windows. Because the frames are standing on this ridge it is easier to make new and exciting combinations. There's more beauty in this house from Bolig Magasinet that will follow tomorrow... 

Little gallery

In deze kamer gespot op de Hus & Hem site wordt een smalle kast een mini art gallery. Mooi om een paar van die krachtige foto's en tekst images bij elkaar te zetten en deze dan te combineren met een wat traditionelere Dala paard. De Ikea lamp is nog steeds geweldig. Al had ik het wel praktischer gevonden als ie een fractie kleiner was geweest. Maar ja, mooi én praktisch gaan niet altijd hand in hand.

The images on this small cabinet create a mini art gallery. I love the strong black & white images combined with black and red and the red Dala horse. The second image (also from Hus & Hem) shows the overview in the room. Still love the IKEA lamp but would have prefered for it to be a more practical slightly smaller size. Oh well, beautiful and practical don't always go togerther. 

Look a little closer...

Ga voor een beetje klein geluk naar de site Little People. Het is een 'tiny street project' waarbij je veel afbeeldingen tegenkomt zoals dit mini bootje wat door gemorste melk vaart. Echt heel erg leuk! En krijg je er echt niet genoeg van dan koop je het boek of een van de badges.

Kunst from Sweden

Bij Andyland koop je mooie prints en illustraties van Zweedse ontwerpers. Allen geproduceerd in een beperkte oplage en voorzien van een certificaat. Het leuke van Andyland is dat ze all over the world leveren! Dit is een voorbeeld voor een kinderkamer maar ze hebben ook prachtige illustraties en foto's. De site is zeker een bezoekje waard.

When visiting the site of Andyland in Sweden you instantly want to buy! They sell great prints and illustration from several Swedish artist. All in limited edition with a certificate from the artist. The good thing about Andyland is that they ship all over the world. This is an example of a print for a childrens room but they also have great illustrations and photos. Their website is well worth a visit!

Bloesem blog

Ik ben al een tijdje 'fan' van het Bloesem blog en van Bloesem kids. Misschien voor Lille Lykke ook een goed idee om een aparte kids blog te maken. Er zijn zoveel leuke ideeën te verzamelen. Zoals deze 'make it yourself' kunstwerk. Het doet me denken aan de (wel iets kleurrijkere) schilderijen van Andrea Letterie.

For some time now I'm a 'fan' of the Bloesem blog and the Bloesem kids blog. Perhaps a good suggestion for Lille Lykke to also start a kids blog. I come across so many nice ideas. As this 'make it yourself' artwork. It reminds me of the paintings from the Dutch artist Andrea Letterie (although hers are much more colourful!).

Dos Family private home

Een heel leuk nieuw blog is Dos Family. Ik heb hier eerder al iets over geschreven maar nu heb ik op hun site ook de foto van hun eigen huis ontdekt. Hier een leuke afbeelding waar je ziet dat ze 'kunst' leuk combineren met hun eigen spullen.

Mini museum

Geen lambrisering maar wel een oog aangename onderbreking van een kale muur, zo zou je deze smalle plankjes kunnen noemen. Mini museum... zou ook een benaming kunnen zijn. In ieder geval heb je met zo'n rand voldoende ruimte om je mooiste spulletjes uit te stallen, zonder daar uitsluitend je vensterbank of schouw voor te gebruiken. Wederom een geweldig Hus & Hem idee.

Lot's to show but a bit hesitant for clutter. Create a small shelve halfway up the wall as shown in this Hus & Hem interior. It gives you enough space to flaunt your precious items and keeps table, fireplace and window shelves nice and empty. It looks just like a mini museum.
